8 Easy Ways to Improve Effectively your Skin
Posted on 05 January 2017
Our skin is damaged everyday by environmental pollution, harsh weather conditions, a bad diet, and UV radiation. There are several ways to protect your skin from damage and make it healthier. Here are a few tips and tricks on how to naturally get a healthy and beautiful skin!
1- DRINK PLENTY OF WATER
Hydration definitely starts from the inside out. The fact is that skin is an organ, and just like any other parts of the body. Without water, the organs will certainly not function properly or at their best.
If your skin is not getting sufficient amount of water, the lack of hydration will present itself by turning your skin dry, tight and flaky.
Our advice: Work at drinking at least between 6 and 8 glasses of water a day!
2- SLEEP A FULL NIGHT
The secret to not looking tired? It’s… actually not being tired! The benefits of a good night’s sleep are indisputable: fewer wrinkles, a glowing complexion, brighter, less puffy-eyes, healthier and fuller hair. Indeed, it is during the night that the body’s hydration re-balances and the damaged cells get repaired.
Our advice: We often recommend that the best for an average adult is to get between 7 to 8 hours of sleep a night for a dewy and plump skin.
3- STOCK-UP ON VITAMINS
Your body changes according to your food habits. Indeed, there is an obvious relationship between the food you eat and your skin. A healthy, balanced diet is an essential prescription for a glowing complexion.
Moreover, if you notice hair loss, acne or premature aging, it might be due to a lack of vitamins. Four types of vitamins are particularly important; the Vitamin A also known as the anti-ager, the Vitamin B3 for hydration and reducing redness, the Vitamin C for a bright and healthy complexion, the Vitamin E to repair and moisturize. Marine fatty acids (omega 3 for example) can be a good help for people suffering from hair loss. Furthermore, they have a positive effect on the elasticity and shine of the skin.
Our advice : Eat plenty of fruits, vegetables, whole grains and lean proteins. Try as much as possible to avoid snacks and soda, and don’t go overboard on dairy products, coffee and alcohol.
4- CLEAN YOUR SKIN THOROUGHLY
In order to start treating your skin right, you’ve got to get rid of all the obstacles such as makeup and dirt. You should never go to bed with makeup on since it prevents the renewal process of your skin and causes acne. If you sometimes wake up with a mascara-streaked pillowcase even though you’ve washed your face, you should try an oil-based cleanser.
Our advice: One of the little known way to use Argan Oil is to take off makeup. Bahia Argan Oil is extremely gentle and doesn’t sting or burn your face like other chemical removers. To remove your makeup with Argan Oil, simply take a few drops on your hands and massage it all over your face and eyes. Then take a dry tissue or towel to wipe it off. Voila! Your skin is ready to renew itself. Also, you can use Bahia Rose Water to remove make-up and soften your skin.
5- EXFOLIATE YOUR SKIN ON A REGULAR BASIS
Exfoliating is crucial for a polished complexion and should be part of every skincare routine. Sloughing off dead skin cells and debris enables your skin to breathe and allows skincare products to be more efficient.
Our advice: We recommend exfoliating twice per week. You can follow the steps of the DIY Rhassoul Clay Purifying Mask for a clean and healthy skin!
6- MOISTURIZE, MOISTURIZE!
Maintaining the water content of the skin is crucial for healthy skin. Moisturizing is essential in a beauty routine since it slows down water loss through the superficial layers of your skin. It fights the signs of aging, makes your skin plumper and brighter.
Our advice: Argan Oil is a must when it comes to moisturizing. We advise gently massaging a few drops onto the face and neck each morning. You can switch to Bahia Pure Prickly Pear Seed Oil for your night routine. Don’t neglect your neck! In fact, treat your neck and chest like an extension of your face.
7- PROTECT YOUR SKIN FROM SUN
It is essential to protect your skin from sun damage. Exposure to sunlight without sun protection cream not only increases the risk of getting skin cancer, it also causes premature aging. For example, using sunscreen prevents the formation of sunspots, which are the flat brown spots that show up on the parts of your body that have been exposed to the most sun (generally face and hands).
Our advice: Choose a broad-spectrum sunscreen that protects against both UVA and UVB radiation. Make sure it is water resistant and has a sun protection factor (SPF) of 30 or higher.
8- CLEAN YOUR MAKEUP BRUSHES
Cleaning makeup brushes may not seem like the most glamorous of tasks but it has a significant effect on keeping a healthy skin. Skipping good, regular cleansing can lead to clogged pores and breakouts.
Also, don’t forget to check your makeup expiry date! You should toss your mascara after 2-3 months, your liquid foundation and concealer after 6-8 months and your lipstick after 2 years.
Our advice: Use an alcohol-based product for a quick clean after using your makeup brushes each time. To clean them thoroughly, just use baby shampoo or soap.
Follow these tips and you’ll be well on your way to better skin. You can expect results in four weeks. If you have any other hacks to achieve a healthy skin, please do share with us!
